Dried fruit is divided into two groups:
- Nuts, also known as oily or lipid nuts, rich in "good" fats and low in sugar. This group includes walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, pine nuts, peanuts, pistachios, chestnuts and coconuts. They contain a good amount of protein, are very rich in vitamins B and E, mineral salts and fibers
- Pulpy, also called non-oily, carbohydrate or dehydrated, low in fat, but rich in sugars, minerals and vitamins. In this group we include: figs, dates, apricots, plums, raisins
